Parking on public streets in the city

From November 1st to April 15th – Parking is not allowed on any public street in the City of Rimouski between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. during this period. This regulation facilitates snow removal when needed. Violators are subject to a $20 fine, plus fees.


Payment is required on the following days and times:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m

Thursday, Friday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday, Sunday and holidays: Parking in metered zones is free.

Free Parking Areas

The City of Rimouski has adopted a measure which allows tourists and visitors who live more than 200 kilometres (125 miles) from the city to park for free at parking metres on downtown streets and parking lots, whether you are here to shop, on business or to use the various municipal services and facilities

As simple as that!

To get your free parking permit, stop in at the  Tourist Information Centre with proof of residence demonstrating that you live at least 200 kilometres (125 miles) away. You will be given a tag to hang from the rear-view mirror which is valid for three days.
