Conservatory of Music
Founded in 1973, Rimouski's Conservatoire de musique du Québec (conservatory of music) is part of the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec, a province-wide network of music and dramatic arts training institutions. It offers professional training at four levels, corresponding to primary school, secondary school, college and university (both undergraduate and graduate). Training focuses on established instrumental specializations and is completed by taking a certain number of required and optional courses. The Conservatoire of Rimouski also offers external study programs that are open to all, through its support for introductory training and personal enrichment. It promotes the development of organizations that contribute to the musical life of the community. In addition to its regular courses, the Conservatoire organizes teaching activities (from October to May), concerts presented by its professors and invited performers, master classes and a regional music festival.
Its hand-picked teaching team combines skill, experience and creativity to assure that students receive the best possible training in a stimulating and challenging environment.
