University of Quebec at Rimouski
A university on a human scale
Founded in 1969, the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) is part of the Université du Québec network, which brings together the resources of ten universities, advanced training academies and research institutes throughout Quebec.
Combining an individual approach with scientific rigor, and fuelled by a passionate thirst for knowledge, UQAR is the ideal place to pursue university studies. The approach works, as demonstrated by UQAR's graduation rate — one of the highest in Quebec.
For solid academic training in a stimulating and creative environment, UQAR is a dream school!
Arts and sciences, knowledge and culture — you'll find a wide variety of educational and research programs at UQAR, in sectors with strong future potential. With a research institute (ISMER), research chairs, collaborative research groups, and the anticipated construction of a new marine biotechnology research centre, UQAR provides facilities that attract researchers from across the world every year. Its educational programs are also enriched by the many active research programs, and attract students from all over Quebec, as well as almost 200 international students. Training is offered in fields as varied as marine sciences (oceanography, maritime resource management), biology and chemistry (wildlife and habitat management, environmental sciences, physiology), engineering and computer science, regional development, geography and natural environments, humanities and social sciences (history, culture, psychosociology and social development), education sciences and management sciences.
